an ancient commun apiary from south of Morocco



Not far from Agadir, in High Atlas  mounatains, at Inzerki village,  we find the oldest commun apiary in the world. It still active and it can teach us the social and ecological methods to care of bees.

It contains 279 old boxes and each one can holde 15 to 20 beehives. They are made of reeds and bark, the palm wood consist to close the ends, a small hole allows enry and exit of bees.

Every apiary has symbols of each owner, and many rules supervise the use of this  commun economic  society.
